description
In the weeks following the inauguration of the new administration, as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) began conducting raids across the country, a group of organizations in Massachusetts sprang into action by establishing a hotline to track ICE activity and distilling misinformation. This coalition of organizations, known formally as the LUCE Immigrant Justice Network, has since built out local hubs across the state and organized direct actions, and is advancing systems change through policy and organizing campaigns while shifting the narrative on immigration. With no end in sight for toughened enforcement, LUCE continues to carve a path forward for the immigrant justice movement in Massachusetts, while responding to the urgent needs of immigrant communities.
Join LUCE, The Hyams Foundation, and GCIR for a briefing to learn about the unique challenges and opportunities facing immigrant-serving organizations in Massachusetts, the rapid response efforts taking place across the state, and how funders can play a role in resourcing the capacity building of organizations on the frontlines.
