GCIR invites funders who support transnational migration-related work to join the next meeting of the Transnational Strategy Community of Practice on Thursday, April 3rd. GCIR launched this group last year to provide a space for funders to share their knowledge of migrant-led transnational organizing and power-building work, learn more about how funders and donors are investing in this work, and identify opportunities to shape current and new transnational strategies.
In the group’s first meeting of 2025, we will focus specifically on migratory flows between Central America and the United States. This will be an opportunity to get up-to-date information on the state of affairs in the region, as well as how movement groups are responding to both new and longstanding challenges. We will also hear from a funder colleague on how philanthropy is responding. Following these remarks, attendees will have a chance to connect with each other on shared challenges, strategies, and opportunities.
