2025 marks 50 years since the first refugees from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam arrived in the United States. This group of individuals and families would become the largest to ever be resettled in the U.S. Their arrival helped to establish the nation’s refugee resettlement program.
However, the new administration has suspended the arrival of refugees already approved to enter the United States and has ramped up enforcement policies that are criminalizing refugees that have made this nation their home for decades.
Join Southeast Asia Resource Action Center (SEARAC), Southeast Asian Freedom Network (SEAFN), and Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees (GCIR) for a funders-only briefing to commemorate this milestone.
