Long Beach COVID-19 Undocumented Community Relief Fund

Friday, April 10, 2020

This fundraiser is organized by DAYS Long Beach (dba Edwin and Dorothy Baker Foundation), the Long Beach Immigrant Rights Coalition, Democratic Socialist of America (Long Beach Chapter), and Housing Long Beach.

COVID-19 has destroyed the livelihoods of many in our community.  But whereas those with status can rely on unemployment benefits, medicare, and any forthcoming federally funded COVID-19 relief programs to get them through this crisis, our undocumented community members can only get help from us.

Nearly 31,000 undocumented immigrants live in Long Beach. Many of our undocumented community members work in temporary or low-wage jobs, without access to sick leave, unemployment or the ability to work remotely. These families now wonder how to put food on the table; how to care for sick loved ones; and how they will pay rent or for other basic necessities. We are all frightened right now, but our undocumented neighbors face even greater hardships in the next couple of months.

We need to come together and support one another! We ask you to please donate to the Long Beach COVID-19 Undocumented Community Relief Fund and to ask others to as well. Various organizers and grassroots organizations committed to serving all of our community during this crisis created the Fund to keep our undocumented community members fed, housed, and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

No donation is too small! Your donations will go DIRECTLY to support undocumented families in Long Beach in the midst of the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
Now is the time to stand in solidarity with the undocumented community in Long Beach!
