Description

Recent months have brought dramatic shifts in federal policies that deeply affect Southern California’s immigrant and refugee communities. These policies have broad impact on the vulnerable populations we serve every day as grantmakers, regardless of whether we specifically fund “immigration or refugee issues.” The expansion of immigration enforcement personnel, expedited deportation with no access to immigration courts, reduced protections for unaccompanied children, decreased refugee admittance, and the upcoming revised travel ban are just some of the policies rapidly changing the lives of Southern Californians.
