Description:

Sanctuary policies have garnered heightened media attention since the president signed an executive order on January 25 to withhold federal funding from cities that adopt such policies. What are sanctuary policies? What are the implications of the executive order? Why do many law enforcement leaders disagree with the administration's effort to withhold federal funding for sanctuary jurisdictions, and what work needs to be done to lift up their perspective? Join us for a discussion of these questions with Jonathan Blazer, Advocacy and Policy Counsel at the American Civil Liberties Union, and Sheriff Jerry L. Clayton of Washtenaw County in Michigan. At the beginning of the call, Kerri Talbot, Partner at The VENG Group, will also provide a general policy update.
