Many of our immigrant community members work in temporary or low-wage jobs without access to sick leave, unemployment or the ability to work remotely. Immigrants, many of them undocumented, do essential work that sustains us all.
At this time, the undocumented community will not see any relief from federal stimulus programs. Like so many who have lost jobs during this crisis, those who cannot pay their rent or essential bills during this pandemic stand to lose their homes. Even with a number of local food programs, we know community members are not able to access enough food for their children.
This is the time for all of us to come together and not leave any part of our community behind.
