Session Description:

At a time when America’s democracy is contending with extremist forces that seek to restrict voting, exclude immigrants from the census, and fracture our multi-racial society, it is imperative that democratic institutions are not only protected, but fully activated. Moderated by the Democracy Fund, panelists in this session will explore the ways in which immigrant communities are practicing civic engagement and redefining what is possible. This includes expanding access to the franchise, training candidates to run for office, engaging communities in state and local level advocacy efforts to advance social justice reforms, and more.
