Abolition Advocacy: Breaking Out of the Box

For decades, the immigrant rights movement has sought to improve detention conditions and expand access to legal counsel for detained immigrants. However, the fundamental injustices of a detention-based framework have animated the growing detention abolition movement. In this workshop, advocates will discuss abolitionist approaches to organizing, advocacy, and legal service provision.
