Please join Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP) and Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) for an informational webinar to learn more about the proposed “public charge” regulation impacting Asian American and Pacific Islander families, and how funders and communities can respond.
The Trump Administration is expected to propose an immigration regulation re-defining the “public charge” requirement for individuals applying for permanent residence (“green cards”). This proposed regulation could impact 3.8 million Asian American and Pacific Islander immigrants' access to healthcare, economic security, early childcare access, food, and other safety nets. The expected public charge regulation is already resulting in a chilling effect on the utilization of public benefits by immigrants and their U.S. born children.
