Given the high stakes for California’s immigrant and refugee communities and the ever-changing policy landscape, GCIR surveyed our CIII members to identify critical short and-long term opportunities for shared learning, coordination, and collaborative funding. We are eager to share these survey results at this meeting. We will have simultaneous in-person meetings in Los Angeles at the California Wellness Foundation and in San Francisco at Northern California Grantmakers. (A video option will be provided for those who cannot attend in-person attendance. However, we highly encourage you to attend in person as the survey results review will lead into a facilitated discussion of our shared priorities.)
In addition to discussing priorities for CIII member engagement over the next 18 months, we will hear updates on state and national policy developments, including the family separation and detention policies that have caused a popular uproar. Participants will have an opportunity to explore various funding responses and discuss strategies for regional and statewide coordination.
