Like every modern census before it, the 2020 Census will profoundly influence the next decade of American civic life. The census is also an extremely complex and sensitive undertaking that typically requires years of careful planning. As 2020 approaches, numerous advocates, experts, and government officials have raised serious concerns about the upcoming count – from funding and staffing, to a new and largely untested digital approach, to the potential addition of a controversial question about citizenship that could chill public participation.

Join them for a dialogue on KPCC’s 2020 Census Reporting Project as Ashley Alvarado, Director of Community Engagement, and Kristen Muller, Chief Content Officer, discuss these high stakes and the Southern California communities that are at risk of being undercounted in 2020.

Kindly RSVP by February 20th, or to Lauren Tran at [email protected] or 626-583-5176.
