Session Description:

Immigration laws have failed to keep pace with the reasons people migrate, rendering many who are desperate to seek refuge with few or no options. An individual fleeing a hazardous event - such as a hurricane that devastates the dry corridor, kills thousands, and damages crops across the region - has no pathway to enter the United States due to climate displacement. A family that lacks a nation state that considers them nationals is rendered stateless and has no pathway to remain in the United States. A couple that was paroled into the United States lacks a pathway to stay in the country unless Congress passes legislation. How are advocates pushing for more pathways? Hear experts share the latest advocacy efforts to expand pathways along with recent successes such as community sponsorship.
