Session Description:
Pedro is a blind, undocumented immigrant who faces uncertainty in his quest to obtain his college degree, become a social worker, and support his family. Filmmaker Set Hernandez uses experimental cinematography and sound to reimagine the accessibility of cinema, while exploring the intersections of immigration, disability, and mental health. Earlier this year, unseen won the the Independent Spirit Awards’ Truer Than Fiction Award and was nominated for the Cleveland International Film Festival’s Greg Gund Memorial Standing Up Award. Popcorn and drinks will be provided; please feel free to bring other food yourself.
