Finds that classic indicators of civic participation (socioeconomic status, political orientation, religiosity) have less predictive value in a multiracial urban context, where recent immigration, interracial ties, and other factors help explain differences in participation among Anglos, black, Latinos, and different Asian immigrant groups.
